Auto-Enrolment Letters

Part of the Auto-Enrolment process includes letters to your employee(s) at certain points.

When using the NannyPaye Pension Service, we produce these letters for you and send them to you via email for you to pass them on to your employee(s).

Postponing your Staging Date

If you are postponing your pension staging date (which you can do by up to 3 months) then your employee will receive a letter called 'General Notice A' within 6 weeks of the staging date.

After this postponement period your employee will be assessed for eligibility, if your employee is eligible to be automatically enrolled into your pension scheme then they will receive another letter explaining this.

If your employee is not eligible at this point then they will be re-assessed every payroll run thereafter. At such a time as they become eligible then a letter will be sent to them at this point informing them of this.

Not postponing your Staging Date

At the first payroll after your staging date your employee will be assessed for eligibility and then categorised into one of three categories:

Eligible Worker - Your employee will be automatically enrolled into your Pension scheme and they will receive a letter explaining this.

Non-Eligible Worker - Your employee will not be automatically enrolled into your Pension scheme, but they can choose to opt in if they wish to do so. if your employee does opt in then both you and your employee will make contributions into the scheme and they will receive a letter explaining this.

Entitled Worker - Your employee will not be automatically enrolled into your Pension Scheme, but they can choose to opt in if they wish to do so. If your employee does opt in the only they will be required to make contributions into this and they will receive a letter explaining this.

If they are assessed as either Non-Eligible or Entitled then they will be re-assessed on every payroll run thereafter until such a time as they become eligible to be automatically enrolled. At this point they will then be sent another letter to explain this.

Don't forget, that we do all of this for you if you use the NannyPaye Pension Service.
